Neodymium magnets, also called neodymium-iron-boron magnetism, are tetragonal crystals made of neodymium, iron, and boron. The magnetic energy product (BHmax) of this magnet was greater than that of samarium-cobalt magnets, and it was a substance with a relatively large magnetic energy product around the world at that time. Later, Sumitomo Special Metals successfully developed the powder metallurgy method, and General Motors successfully developed the spin-jet smelting method, which was able to prepare neodymium-iron-boron magnetism. This type of magnet is a permanent magnet that is second only to zero-degree magnets today, and it is also a rare earth magnet that is more commonly used. NdFeB magnets are widely used in electronic products, such as hard disks, mobile phones, headphones, and battery-powered tools.
In order to avoid corrosion damage, the surface of the permanent magnetic material needs to be protected during use, such as gold, nickel, zinc, tin plating, and epoxy coating on the surface.
NdFeB is divided into two types: sintered NdFeB and bonded NdFeB. The bonded NdFeB has magnetic properties in all directions and is resistant to corrosion. Sintered NdFeB is susceptible to corrosion and requires a surface coating. Generally, there are Nickel, environmental protection zinc, environmental protection nickel, nickel copper nickel, environmental protection nickel copper nickel, etc. The sintered NdFeB is generally divided into axial magnetization and radial magnetization, depending on the required working surface.
